Beta for Gran Turismo has been Cancelled

The beta for Gran Turismo Sport has been cancelled so the game could release this year. Back in October the guys at Sony announced that the game will becoming with a beta.  The creative director told videogamer that making the game would of resulted in the delay of the game so they canned it. Here is his exact words:

“That’s something that I’m very, very sorry about,” he told the site. “In order to do a beta test we have to make a gold master of the beta test code, and for us it actually takes as much effort as to finish the real master code of the actual game.

“Just because it’s beta we can’t just throw it out there. It’s required that in order to do an open beta we have to create a proper master for it, and considering the release timing that we announced, we decided that we just don’t have enough time to do two gold masters for the game.

“By omitting that it saves us about three months of time.”

The game will release to the masses on November 15th

Mirror's Edge Catalyst Pushed Back to June

Looks as if Mirror’s Edge Catalyst has been pushed back. On the game’s  website Erik Odeldahi cited that the game is being pushed back to June 7th due to an addition of a new Social Play feature. Check out the post here:

Hello everyone,
As you know, we’re about to open the gates to the city of Glass for participants of the Closed Beta. One of the key features of the Beta and the full game is Social Play, detailed in our latest developer diary.

Taking on Dashes designed by DICE, creating your own Time Trials, climbing the Leaderboards, and connecting with your Runner friends are some of the Social Play features we’re really excited about – and something we want to play flawlessly.

To support the Social Play features, we are using a brand new online technology. We also want to make sure we have the opportunity and time to address player feedback from the Closed Beta. That is why we will give ourselves a bit more time to perfect the game, with a new release date for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst of June 7th (NA) and June 9th (EU).We’re confident that these extra two weeks will make sure the game is as amazing as possible for you the players.

Thank you all for your continued support and excitement for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. The return of Faith is imminent.
